Meet the artist

Helga Stentzel is a London-based contemporary artist whose work explores the imaginative potential of everyday objects. Through meticulous construction and a playful conceptual approach, she transforms clothing, groceries, and household items into distinctive characters that blur the lines between sculpture, photography, and storytelling.

Her internationally recognised Clothesline Animals series (launched in 2020) marked a turning point in her practice, leading to exhibitions across Europe, Asia, and the United States, as well as collaborations in theatre and public art. Collectors are drawn to the emotional clarity and inventive simplicity of her work — pieces that invite audiences to revisit the familiar with fresh eyes.

Helga’s artistic perspective is shaped by her upbringing in Siberia, her background in fashion and design, and a lifelong fascination with the overlooked details of daily life. Her goal is to create art that feels joyful, thoughtful, and accessible, offering a moment of connection in an increasingly fast-paced world.

  • A ludicrous dragon is soaring over London, its path defiant and unchained, a stark contrast to the rigid towers and office blocks below. This is no fairytale saviour rescuing princesses from castles; instead, it embodies the spirit of those bound by daily routines, tethered to desks and screens, yearning for liberation. The dragon's flight becomes a rebellious act, a reminder of the power to break free and reclaim one’s sense of purpose. It sweeps past the City of London, carrying with it the hopes of those who dream of more than the confines of office walls, craving a taste of the extraordinary

The Details

Helfa Stentzel's practice is grounded in observing life as it unfolds: unpolished, sincere, and full of hidden sparks. Through her lens, the everyday becomes a source of wonder.

Be it a child’s bedroom, a laundry room or the kitchen, Helga’s work adds a quiet but persistent reminder to stay open to the small miracles in everyday life. Her pieces don’t simply decorate a wall—they gently interrupt the familiar. Each artwork stands as a daily prompt to slow down, look twice and rediscover the extraordinary hiding in the ordinary. In a world that often rushes by, her creatures offer a moment of pause, a spark of playfulness and a soft nudge back toward curiosity.

Each print is produced with exceptional care to honour the spirit of the original artwork. Using Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308gsm, the images are printed with rich depth and beautiful, velvety detail. Every piece is cut by hand and individually signed and embossed by Helga, ensuring that no two prints feel quite the same. Finally, each artwork is carefully packaged in her London studio, so it arrives in pristine condition—ready to bring its quiet sense of wonder into your home.
